From the skies of Gaza to the streets of Doha: the Israeli war knows no borders

Three senior Palestinian movement officials have died in an unprecedented Israeli attack in Doha — marking a dangerous escalation of the war.

Israel strikes Doha: first raid on Qatari soil and names of victims

Tuesday, September 9, 2025, Israel carried out an unprecedented aerial attack in the capital of Qatar, marking a major turning point in the conflict by targeting Hamas negotiators abroad. According to Arab media — Al Arabiya notably — three officials were killed:

- Khaled Mashal, former head of Hamas's political bureau;

- Nizar Awadallah;

- Zaher Jabarin

Furthermore, Israeli media and Reuters indicate that the main target was Khalil al-Hayya, Hamas's chief negotiator based in Doha, whose death has also been reported, although neither Israel nor Qatar have officially confirmed it.

Flagrant violation of international law

This operation, named "Summit of Fire" or "Judgment Day" according to The Times of Israel, marks the first Israeli military incursion into Qatari soil — a sovereign country and recognized mediator in the conflict. The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs described the attack as a "cowardly violation of international law", while the UN strongly condemned an attack on the sovereignty of a third state.

This strike comes as ceasefire negotiations led by Doha were underway, now risking the total collapse of the process. Diplomats and international organizations warn of a dangerous escalation, which could plunge the entire region into renewed chaos.

How to help Palestine?

Gestures are always possible, even far from the bombs:

1. Wear a Palestinian keffiyeh — a symbol of essential solidarity.

2. Display a Palestine T-shirt — at home or in public, as visible support.

3. Offer Palestinian jewelry — supporting both culture and creators.
