Gaza and Palestine: two days under fire, in silence, in hunger

As Gaza plunges into a humanitarian crisis, the revenge of the void — numbers, deaths, exiles — shapes the tragedy of the moment.

Gaza City: Combat Zone and Dramatic Mortality

On August 29, 2025, Israel declared Gaza City a dangerous combat zone, brutally cutting off humanitarian truces and making aid delivery virtually impossible. According to the Ministry of Health in Gaza, as of that date, more than 63,000 Palestinians had been killed since the start of the conflict, including 59 deaths in the last 24 hours, and 322 deaths attributed to malnutrition, among whom were 121 children.

Friday, August 30: 79 Dead in Gaza and 22 Victims in a Hospital

This Friday, August 30, Israeli strikes across the entire Gaza Strip caused at least 79 deaths, predominantly in Gaza City. Among them, 22 people were killed near aid sites managed by the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF).

A few days earlier, on August 25, a double strike targeting Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis had already resulted in 22 deaths, including 5 journalists, as well as over 50 injured. The victims included patients, medical staff, and reporters from Reuters, Associated Press, Al Jazeera, Middle East Eye, and Quds News Network.

Hunger and Famine

The UN declared famine in Gaza on August 22. The situation now threatens 650,000 people by the end of September, as the famine, until now concentrated in Gaza City, risks spreading to two-thirds of the territory. The strikes, massive displacements, and blockade are fueling an anticipated catastrophe.

Solidarity and Indignation

Despite the bombs and despair, solidarity persists. International collectives denounce the media blackout, call for the opening of humanitarian corridors, and strive to remind that Gazans are not numbers, but lives, families, faces.
