Gaza: Deadly Strikes, Blocked Medical Evacuations, and Relentless Humanitarian Crisis

Gaza: Despite the Deafening Silence of the Media, the War Continues

Since our last update, the humanitarian situation in Gaza continues to deteriorate. Between deadly bombings, extremely limited medical access, and dramatic living conditions for the displaced, the civilian population remains trapped in a conflict showing no signs of abating.

New Strikes Kill Dozens

In recent days, several Israeli bombings have caused heavy losses. Strikes have notably killed at least 30 Palestinians, including women and children, marking one of the deadliest days since the ceasefire, according to hospital officials in Gaza. The attacks targeted homes as well as areas where displaced families were located.

Just a few days earlier, Israeli warplanes had bombed a police station in Gaza City, killing 13 people, while other strikes hit homes and a tent camp in Khan Younis. Rescue teams continued to search for victims under the rubble.

An Overall Death Toll Exceeding 71,000

The Gaza Ministry of Health now reports approximately 71,800 Palestinians killed since the beginning of the war, with over 171,000 injured. Thousands of bodies may still be under the ruins. Since the ceasefire came into effect in the fall, more than 480 Palestinians have reportedly been killed in Israeli attacks, showing that the truce remains extremely fragile.

Rafah: Symbolic Opening Amidst a Massive Medical Emergency

The Rafah crossing, vital for access to care, has been reopened in a very limited way. Only 27 people were able to cross on the first day, while nearly 20,000 Palestinians are awaiting medical evacuation, including cancer patients and many children. The World Health Organization indicates that 900 people have already died waiting to leave Gaza.

The territory's health system is described as devastated after two years of war, and humanitarian aid remains largely barred from passing through this crucial corridor.

A Ravaged Territory and Displaced Persons Exposed to Winter

The crisis is no longer limited to bombings. According to recent observations, the majority of inhabitants still live in precarious structures, often tents vulnerable to cold and bad weather. Humanitarian organizations warn of an exhausted population facing hunger, disease, and lack of drinking water.

In this context, each new strike aggravates a situation already described as "desperate" by several international agencies.

A War That Continues Despite Diplomatic Efforts

The partial reopening of Rafah comes as diplomatic discussions continue around a peace plan, but sporadic violence and humanitarian restrictions show that stabilization remains distant. For the civilians of Gaza, the priority remains daily survival.
